Roles & Responsibilities of our teams

Tour Leaders serve as the backbone of our programs. Their primary responsibility includes monitoring the safety (physical and social), well-being, and enjoyment of all participants every step of the way. This includes but is not limited to daily wake-ups and room checks, leading activities and tours, getting to know all participants, and managing situations as they arise. Leaders support the Director to provide a positive group experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Great leadership skills
  • Experience working with teenagers and Tour camp
  • 25 years of age or older for most positions
  • Travel experience

All Tour Leaders are assigned additional speciality roles before their departure. The different roles include healthcare manager, social media specialist, photographer…

Our Tour Leaders

Our tour leaders play an important role in crafting an unforgettable camp experience for each individual joining our tours. We deeply value the accolades our team receives annually for their adeptness in establishing enjoyable, secure, and welcoming group atmospheres. They encompass educators, lecturers, mentors, student services experts, and other guiding figures who champion the profound effects of voyaging.

Rigorous Staff Recruitment & Selection Process

Every team member in our programs undergoes our thorough evaluation process consisting of personal interviews and reference verifications.

We excel in discovering the most exceptional candidates who:

  • Exhibit a proven enthusiasm for teaching and collaborating with adolescents
  • Act as commendable role models within their communities
  • Display outstanding leadership aptitude
  • Enjoy fostering an enjoyable atmosphere and engaging everyone
  • Demonstrate accountability, sociability, empathy, and compassion

Complete Training and Preparation

Following selection as a tour leader, we mandate all staff to participate in compulsory in-person training sessions. These sessions vary in duration, lasting one week for Program Directors and three days for Program Leaders. Detailed manuals containing comprehensive policies and procedures are provided, alongside role-playing exercises to reinforce safety protocols. This guarantees that all staff members are thoroughly familiar with our philosophy, policies, and procedures, and are prepared to deliver a supervised and enjoyable summer program.
