How can I get in touch with my teenager while they're on the tour?

Participants may bring their cell phones so parents may call and message their kids directly. You may also contact us which serves as the official link between tours and parents. We are staffed every day during the tours and have somebody on call for after-hours emergencies ready to assist you 24/7.

Free time will be following during the tour?

All of our tours include free time. The implementation of these sessions depends heavily on the maturity and autonomy of each participant, as well as the trust that leaders can provide.

What should be done if one of the participants refuses to take part in an activity?

We want everyone to feel comfortable joining our programs and trying new things. If you’re worried about any activities, talk to us. We won’t pressure you to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

Do you need a local guide on your tours?

For specific highlights or adventure activities, we have local guides join us as needed.

Is a passport/visa needed to travel?

Always check all your travel documents allowance for your trip to avoid any inconvenience at departure. A valid passport is required when travelling internationally. We work hard to keep the information on this page up-to-date, but requirements vary per country and can change at any time for reasons beyond the control of NOMAD. It is the responsibility of the traveller to verify appropriate documentation. To obtain any required entry visas on time, please contact the local Embassy or Consulate of the country you will be visiting for details on any required visas.

Expiration: Many countries require that your passport be valid for 6 months beyond your dates of travel. If you are travelling on one of our tours, please ensure your passport meets these expiration requirements.

What should I pack?

A packing list will be sent to you along with other tour-specific information on a dedicated page. You will only need to pack a week’s worth of clothes as laundry facilities will be available. Please bring casual, comfortable, and machine-washable clothing.

How does laundry work?

For most tours, laundry is done once a week, so pack enough clothing for just a week.

Enrollment

Who is eligible to participate in your tours?

Our tours are designed for students between the ages of 14 to 22 years old, who possess a positive outlook and respect for others. We form age-appropriate groups for our program departures to ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved.

When is the enrollment deadline?

All tours are open for enrollment until they are either full or have departed.
 

Do you welcome students from all around the world?

Of course! Having international students in a travel group can contribute to a more enriching, educational, and memorable travel experience for everyone involved.

What language is used by your tours?

Our programs use English as the primary language of communication. In cases where groups consist of individuals of a single nationality, the language spoken in that country is used.

What are the steps after completing the enrollment process?

Once you have completed the enrollment form, you will receive a confirmation email as proof of your pre-registration. Shortly afterwards, you will be notified to pay the non-refundable deposit of AED 1000. A member of our enrollment team will then contact you to welcome you and address any additional queries you may have. As the tour draws closer, you will receive more information on a dedicated page.

Is it possible for a teenager with health issues who takes medication to participate in a program?

Absolutely! It’s essential to communicate openly with us beforehand any health concerns or medication requirements to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. With proper planning and support, teenagers with health issues can fully participate and benefit from these programs.

During the tour, our company conducts scheduled supervisory visits to each location to provide continuous support to our staff in the field and ensure that everything runs smoothly. How do you handle emergencies?

We invest heavily in additional personnel and protocols to respond immediately to any concerns. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to discuss specific situations.

How to deal with bias and mistreatment?

We have a zero-tolerance policy for bias, mistreatment, and bullying in our tours. Our staff work hard to create an inclusive culture and a safe space for everyone. They intervene immediately and take appropriate action as needed.

Payment & Refunds

Which currency are your prices listed in?

All prices on our website and print materials include VAT and are displayed in AED.

What about the payment process?

How can I pay for a tour?

We only accept payment via wire transfer.

Do you accept flexible payment plans?

After making a non-refundable deposit, the remaining payment should be made in full and cannot be split into instalments.

Accommodations

Is it possible for the participants to create their own rooms?

To give everyone a chance to make new friends and promote a sense of unity, we provide the option to choose your own roommates. Participants can request a change at any time. The decision of choosing roommates is completely yours! Roommates will be mandatory assigned based on gender accommodation. 

What is the average number of teenagers who share a room?

Typically, there are 2-6 participants per room, each with their own bed, depending on the accommodations.

What type of accommodation do teenagers typically sleep in?

The type of accommodation can vary depending on the country and its facilities, and regarding availabilities. We provide basic hostels or youth hostel accommodations.

Group

What is the maximum number of people who can attend a tour?

Our trips are designed for groups of up to 15 participants.

Do you separate different age groups?

To ensure optimal social dynamics, we organize each tour into age-appropriate groups. Age groups are listed on each tour.

What is the staff-to-participant ratio?

The tour staff-to-participant ratio is 1:5. An additional local guide may join.

Health & Insurance

Do participants need trip insurance?

To minimize the emotional and financial stress that certain situations can bring, we strongly recommend purchasing travel protection that includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage, as well as medical and health insurance.

What should I do if my teenager falls ill during the tour?

If any participant requires medical consultation during our tour, we will promptly inform their parents and take them to the nearest clinic or hospital. After the medical visit, we will keep the parents informed about any updates. In case a participant is unable to participate in the scheduled activities for the day due to their medical condition, our staff will stay with them until they feel better.

Can teenagers keep their medication?

Our medical staff are dedicated to managing medication and following up with our teen.

Are vaccinations needed?

It is recommended that all participants be up to date with routine vaccines. Consult your physician about additional precautions.

What kind of food will we eat during the tour?

When you travel with us, we encourage you to fully immerse yourself in the local cuisine and culture. Keeping an open mind and being willing to try new things will enhance your overall experience. Additionally, we guarantee that our travellers have access to clean water at all times throughout their journey.

Can you make accommodations for dietary restrictions?

We are happy to accommodate most special dietary requests. Please let us know your needs in advance so we can respond favourably.
